Will there be any out of pocket (gap) expenses?
WorkSafe nursing rates are lower than industry benchmark rates, the Nurses’ award, and NDIS pricing rates on which Wattletree Health Group service costs are aligned. This can result in a “gap” payment, for which Wattletree Health Group typically applies on your behalf for WorkSafe endorsement to pay the higher WHG rates. If approved, there is generally no gap payment required, however, we typically pursue a private billing arrangement to cover any WorkSafe shortfalls. This can be discussed with our clinical leadership team.
Do I need a referral to access WorkSafe nursing at home?
A referral from your treating doctor or specialist is required for WorkSafe-funded nursing care. Your WorkSafe case manager can assist in organising this.
